The pdb – Partnership for Dummy Technology and Biomechanics – was founded in 2002 as a cooperative venture between German car manufacturers in the competitively neutral field of crash test dummy technology, biomechanics and simulation.

Experts from the companies involved combine their specialist knowledge in the PDB and work together on tasks and projects. As the link between the cooperating companies, it helps to ensure that uniform principles and standards are applied. Moreover, with its three areas of expertise the PDB creates the basis for achieving high standards of passive occupant protection.
